Port of Oakland Strike Update

Sources report that  the congestion at the Port of Oakland has not improved. As we reported earlier, members of the Port of Oakland Trucker Association, ATU (Amalgamated Transit Union) locals 1555 and 192, as well as a large contingent of supporters from Occupy Oakland and various  labor unions participated in successfully shutting down the SSA terminal, Ports America and TraPak early on the morning of Monday, October 21st. The past week has seen some of the worst back-up with numerous closures and terminal waiting times of 6+ hours. Storage, productivity, and wages are experiencing huge impacts due to this severe congestion.

Please be advised that effective Monday, November 4th, all containers picking up or delivering to the SSA Oakland terminal will be subject to a Congestion Surcharge of $150/container until further notice.

RCL Agencies we will continue to monitor the situation and will report further updates once available. Please be guided accordingly.
