The stevedores’ unions in Spain have agreed to cancel the first five days of a planned walkout starting May 24th. The strike was partially cancelled after the unions have reached a framework agreement with port employers association Anesco which includes accepting a wage cut of up to 10 per cent.
The strike for the remaining days June 5th, 7th and 9th is still active in the form of stoppage of one each two hour (odd hours). The strike should affect the productivity of all Spanish ports, delays , possible skipped calls and inability to load cargo on the anticipated vessel is expected.
The union declared that it would not renounce all stoppages until it has been assured that no jobs are in danger.
Please be guided accordingly. RCL Agencies will provide further updates once available.
